NEW YORK CLASS DESCRIPTION - July - Sept, 2008
Along with Master Class and Theater Intensives around the county, Stephen teaches Advanced and Intermediate Theatre Dance in New York City.
In New York: Ballet Arts Studios, 130 W. 56th (between 6 & 7 Ave), NYC, at City Center.
Ballet Arts Studios offers superior dance and vocal instruction with an emphasis on core classical ballet training. Steve's musical theatre dance class offers a wonderful opportunity to break free of classical constraints and work on performance technique. Classes are open. Professional discounts apply. Stephen's Theatre Dance series offers a working professional's approach to the rich world of theatre dance and presents an excellent opportunity to prepare for professional Broadway level auditions. Actual Broadway choreography by such artists as
Robbins, DeMille, Fosse, Lynne, Stroman, and Kathleen Marshall is taught, and particular attention is paid to the impact their work has had on the American theatre. The 2007 sessions have included choreography from current Broadway productions of Hairspray, Mama Mia, The Wedding Singer, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins along with classic American musicals like Pajama Game, Chicago, Damn Yankees!, and South Pacific. Yes, sometime you'll have to sing AND dance in this class, but hey, it's "Musical" Theatre Dance - and it's fun! Beginners will be extremely challenged - but are welcome at all times!
ADVANCED Musical Theatre Dance:
Tuesdays, 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Ballet Arts
Recent classes have included choreography from current Broadway Musicals such as MOVIN' OUT, WICKED, and HOT FEET, MARY POPPINS and HAIRSPRAY. Advanced Class is open to all.
INTERMEDIATE Musical Theatre Dance:
Thursdays, 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Ballet Arts
Combinations that make the end of the week a little more fun. Recent classes have focused on choreography from AIDA, LION KING, and SPAMALOT, and PIPPIN. Intermediate Class is open to all.

Audition Master Class - New Dance Group - New York City March 31 - 2007. Huntingtown High students concentrate on all three of the disciplines in one of New York's premiere rehearsal studios.
